Ceramic Tiles
There are several advantages to refinishing ceramic tiles. The
biggest advantage is the huge cost savings over ripping out the
old tiles and replacing them, which could cost thousands of dollars.
Cost savings are 70% over ripping out and replacing!
Another advantage is that the grout lines are covered to prevent
mildewing, however, they still remain visible which makes the finish
walls look like new tiles. You can change the color of your tiles
even if they are Flamingo Pink, Avocado
Green, Powder Blue, or
Harvest Gold.
The process of refinishing ceramic tiles is similar to bathtub
reglazing.
1. Ceramic tiles are cleaned and acid etched to dramatically
increase adhesion. If existing grout lines are cracked, they
will be filled.
2. The surface is solvent cleaned and the bonding agent
is then applied.
3. The areas are masked off and the several coats of
epoxy primer are applied.
4. To finish the job, several coats of acrylic urethane
enamel are applied.
The drying time for tiles is twenty-four (24) hours. The process
for one entire bathroom, including the bathtub, sink, and tiles
is typically one day. However, sometimes it may take two days.
Compare this to a complete renovation of your bathroom and you
save days, if not weeks, of down time.
